Meet Cindy

Cindy Kou is a seasoned commercial lawyer with over 10 years’ experience at Canadian-led international law firms. She founded this contract studio in 2023 to provide top-tier commercial advice to exceptional clients in the construction, technology, and PropTech sectors while applying a legal design mindset.

Cindy has advised clients on hundreds of commercial deals with a total value exceeding $1 billion CAD. She frequently advises developers, contractors, suppliers, and public and private owners on the procurement, negotiation, and termination of major construction and technology projects. She also spent 18 months on secondment to the leading Canadian online classifieds marketplace.

Recognition
In 2023, Best Lawyers recognized Cindy as “One to Watch” for construction law. In 2021, she was one of six recipients of the Precedent Setter Award, given to Toronto lawyers for excellence and leadership in their early years of practice. [Read about it here.]
